Tag Archives: The Ugly Duckling
Thanks to my time at Bricks by the Bay last month, I was able to meet the good folks at Brick Command. This prompted me to offer Ka-GO readers the same opportunity to get some insight into what things look like behind the scenes at one of the great custom accessory houses.
Ka-GO is honored to offer Cygnet UD’s first contribution, a BEHIND THE BUILD interview with master modder Pedro. This piece focuses on Pedro’s recent mod of Hazel’s Emile helmet from Halo Reach. It’s a great look into one of the best minifig customizer’s approach to the craft.
Awwwwww yeah. It’s not only great to have a little help with Ka-GO, it’s especially good to have Cygnet lending a hand. I’m genuinely excited to announce that he’s agreed to offer an occasional post to help make this blog a great addition to AFOLville.
Yes, The Ugly Duckling is no more, but the Swan known in AFOL circles as Cygnet is proving that the myth that these birds are silent creatures is crap. In fact, the so called “swan song” that one is said to sing at its time of death is the stuff of myth, because this bird’s doing and saying as much as ever post mortem. Check out this exclusive interview to get the real deal on what this former blogger is getting up to now.
The Digital Minifigure Customization Flickr group wants you. Heh. On the heels of Ugly Duckling announcing its premature end, its fearless leader, Cygnet, launches a space for AFOLs to talk about and appreciate this generally uncovered aspect of the hobby.
FOLs everywhere lost a little something today. Cygnet has officially announced the end of one of the best LEGO-related blogs around, The Ugly Duckling. It’ll be missed around the Ka-GO offices (aka my laptop), for sure.
