On A Steel Horse I Ride

Morgan19 is hands-down my favorite LEGO customizer, due mainly to this FOL’s sheer creativity and “no-limits” approach. This latest creation, “‘Salty Eyes’ McGee, Outlander Vagabond“, continues Morgan‘s track record of character-driven custom minifigs. It’s always amazing how his highly-designed images compliment their fig’s personality…a single image is just enough to share a lot of insight into this character’s backstory. That’s what’s happening here with this mysterious wanderer. The worn, textured styling definitely screams post-apoc-meets-Robert-Rodriguez’s-El-Mariachi. And for some reason, I can totally imagine this thing on a steel horse…not a crappy Bon Jovi motorcycle, but some sort of cool horse mecha. C’mon hip publishers…where’s my “Salty Eyes” McGee graphic novel?!? Oh, and when that graphic novel’s optioned for a Hollywood Summer Blockbuster, Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia” will be used as the basis for the band’s awesome film score.

Why’d you remove the title from the graphic? ;)

You should check out Tanotrooper’s TT horse. on Flickr. It definitely gives off a mecha horse vibe…

Oh no no, don’t worry! :D It actually amused me because I think I looked at the image here on the blog several times before even realizing it was gone.

That does bring up something else I’d been curious about, though… Have you seen my post (link below) in the Ka-GO group? It’s regarding the “personal touch” you add to photos you blog about; I was struck by it back when I first visited here and was curious if there’s a story behind it.
